FAQ

  • Hey there, my name is Alan, and I'm a self-taught graphic designer with nearly 15 years of experience.
I currently specialize in vehicle wrap design, and have experience in several areas of graphic design.

  • It usually will take me 24 hours to follow up with you regarding your order.
However, depending on my schedule, please allow up to 24-48 hours for a response.

If you submitted your e-mail as your preferred contact method, please be sure to check your junk / spam folder for a response! (It's usually good to list multiple contact methods.)

  • When it comes to vehicle wrap design this process is uniquely different for each order, depending on the complexity of the design, or how large the order is.
(For example a hood design, vs a full wrap design.) This window can vary from 2-3 weeks based on the order.

For every project, I include a estimated window of completion within the project quote before any design starts so that way you'll have an idea of how long the design will take.

However, this is always subject to change and I will keep in contact with you throughout the design process and update you on my progress. In the event that I'm not able to complete your order within the estimated window of completion, I will make sure to let you know promptly.

Please don’t bombard me with messages, I promise I didn’t forget your order!
That’s why this FAQ exists. It’s to make sure everything is clear between me and my clients. Thank you for understanding!

  • The simple answer is: No, I don't draw or illustrate any characters in my designs.
I am not an illustrator, and I only work with official art, or commissioned art the client already owns.
My job as a graphic designer is to compose the character "render" with the rest of the elements in the composition to create the design.

If you're looking for a "custom character" illustration, or a specific pose of your selected character, I'd highly recommend finding a character illustrator with a style that suits your preference. They don't need to be familiar with vehicle wrap design to make your illustration.

However, I do recommend that you make the illustrator you choose aware ahead of time that the project file needs to very be high resolution (or even vectored) for the best possible results! Vector format isn't necessary, but an extremely high resolution and high quality image is! Hopefully this clears up any confusion, as I understand this is where many clients can be a bit confused about the design process!

  • I can create themed designs (including characters, abstract, or an aesthetic design), anime themed designs (itasha), racing livery / drift inspired themes, commercial designs (business), etc.

  • One of the most common questions asked is what exactly is an "itasha"? "Itasha", (痛車) which literally translates to "painful car" is a style of vehicle wrap design which primarily utilizes the use of anime, / manga characters.

  • No. All of my designs are 100% conceptualized, and created from scratch by me.
Every design is 100% unique to each and every client.
Character illustrations used in designs are all official art, or commissioned art that the client has permission to use.

  • No, I only create the design and send you the design's project files necessary to print. Print and installation services will need to be done at a local vehicle wrap shop in your area. You will need to bring or send the design's project files to the shop you're looking to work with!

  • This is something that I absolutely hate having to do, but sometimes it's necessary.
In some cases, unfortunately, due to many factors, some characters, shows, themes, etc. are short on usable high resolution art.
Please understand that it is critical to use high resolution art for vehicle wrap & itasha design.

    Some of these factors include:
    - How popular the character, or show is.
    - How new the show or character is.

However, if you have vectored art, or high resolution commissioned art of the character that is usable. I will gladly implement it into your initial requested order! Again, thank you for understanding as this is a very difficult request to make to clients. I do this only because I want to deliver the highest quality possible design for my clients.

  • No, I will not be offering vectoring services. This is just not a time or cost effective decision to add to my workflow.
I'm only one person and vectoring images is a very time consuming and tedious process.

It can also be noted that vector format isn't necessarily always needed for creating a high quality design.

The main requisite is that the image(s) are of extremely high quality, and high resolution.
As long as you meet those requirements, any print will look amazing!
I also believe vectoring an image (such as an anime character) isn't always the best visual solution in regards to maintaining the integrity of the original artwork's detail.

My method is composed of upscaling the image in the highest quality possible, while maintaining sharpness and clarity of the original image. However, if you have vectored artwork you'd like for me to use for your design I will gladly make use of it!

  • At this time, I do not offer design services for vehicles besides cars / trucks.
